Social Contribution

Basic Approach

ENEOS Materials believes that corporate sustainability is supported by coexistence with local communities and promotes social contribution activities as part of its ESG management. Focusing on the communities where we have business sites, we carry out activities in cooperation with local governments, educational institutions, medical institutions, and community groups in areas such as education, healthcare, environmental protection, disaster prevention, culture, and sports. Through voluntary initiatives at the plant and business site level, we contribute to solving social challenges and fostering sustainable local communities.

Social contribution initiatives

We are advancing social contribution activities in collaboration with stakeholders closely connected to the dispersed plants and business sites throughout Japan.

Contribution to primary and secondary education

The Yokkaichi Plant participates as a partner company in the "Yokkaichi Children's Science Seminars" hosted by the Yokkaichi City Board of Education, providing opportunities for local children to deepen their interest in science. In addition, the Yokkaichi Plant provides skills training for local high school students, while the Chiba Plant offers mobile lessons to nearby high schools and welcomes elementary school students for plant tours. We will continue to support initiatives that nurture children's curiosity and sense of inquiry and contribute to developing the next generation of skilled professionals.

Contribution to Local Communities

To support employees' voluntary social contribution activities, ENEOS Materials has introduced a "volunteer leave system" as part of its personnel system. We provide leave to employees who participate in welfare activities, disaster relief, environmental conservation activities, and other volunteer activities, thereby supporting their social contribution and community contribution activities. Employees serving in the fire brigade in Yokkaichi City also make use of the volunteer leave system and contribute to the safety and security of the local community through firefighting activities and rescue and relief activities during disasters.
