Nikkawahama Beach Clean-up Activities

This clean-up activity is a citizen-collaboration event hosted by Kamisu City Coastal Cleanup Committee and has been held since 2007 with the aim of "preserving the white sand and green pines from Nikkawahama to Hasaki Fishing Port as an important asset for the future."
The ENEOS Materials Kashima Plant director, employees, and their families participated in the event and contributed to the beautification of the area by collecting PET bottles and other litter that had drifted ashore.

National Route 16 Clean-up Activities

Through the Ichihara City Waterfront Plant Association, the ENEOS Materials Chiba Plant has concluded the "Rinkai Corporation National Highway 16 Beautification Association" agreement with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism and Ichihara City and is working on "National Highway 16 Clean Day" activities.

Children's Science Seminars

ENEOS Materials is participating in children's science seminars hosted by the Yokkaichi City Board of Education.
At the seminars, while looking at a sample of synthetic rubber, the process of "how a tire is made" was explained to elementary school students in an easy-to-understand manner by using a loaf of bread as an example. The main event was an experiment to make Super Balls using readily available laundry starch (PVA) and salt. After explaining the principle of how liquid changes into a solid using cute illustrations, the children were able to experience it through the actual experiment.

Volunteer Activities

To support employees' voluntary social contribution activities, ENEOS Materials has introduced a "volunteer leave system" as part of its personnel system.
By granting all employees who take part in welfare activities, disaster relief, environmental conservation activities, etc. with up to five days of leave per year, we support employees who are committed to social contribution and community contribution.

Fire Brigade Activities

Fire brigades, which are firefighting organizations established in each municipality, play an important role in protecting the safety and security of residents by maintaining close ties to the community through firefighting activities, rescue and relief activities during large-scale disasters, disaster prevention guidance for local residents, patrols, and public relations activities.

Our employees belonging to the Kusu Ward Fire Brigade Division in Yokkaichi City, Mie Prefecture, are active in protecting the safety of the community as members of the fire brigade.

Other examples of volunteer activities utilizing the leave system

  • One-day elementary school teacher activity
  • Dam clean-up activity
  • Participation in community activation events, etc.

Blood Donation Activities

Blood donation is an important volunteer activity wherein healthy people donate their own blood free of charge to save the precious lives of patients requiring blood transfusions for treatment of illness or surgery. Blood cannot be artificially produced, nor can it be stored for a long time. Therefore, the cooperation of many people in donating blood is necessary to ensure a stable supply of blood products to medical institutions.

We cooperate with the Japanese Red Cross Society's Blood Centers to alleviate the current blood shortage by holding annual blood donation activities for our employees and others.

Sanriku Joban Mono Network

The "Discover the Charms!" Sanriku Joban Mono Network is a public-private collaborative framework to convey the attractiveness of Sanriku and Joban products and increase consumption, aiming for the full-scale reconstruction of the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake.
Our company also participated in this project and held a fair at the cafeterias of various plants, offering meals using Sanriku and Joban products.

  • "Joban Mono" is the collective name for and the fishery products and people involved in the fishery industry fisheries-related of Iwaki City, which has treasured the bounty of the sea and cultivated it as part of their food culture since ancient times.
